The timeless interiors of Mema Design

Dear friends, one of my readers drew my attention to the beautiful and timeless interiors of the Californian based interior designers and business partners

Dana Abbott and Kim Fiscus of MEMA DESIGN .

The moment I visited their website I was enchanted by those beautiful and charming interiors.

I might think that these ladies recently started up their website because the Mema Collection page is still under contruction. Despite of this, their website looks very promising!

‘Our goal is to create timeless interiors
that incorporate our love of classic furniture
with a modern style geared
toward family living.’

is to read on the Mema Design website.

An interview with both ladies, together with some beautiful pictures of the Californian house of Dana Abbott, appeared in House Beautiful here.

The pictures I am posting today are indeed a testament to their timeless and tastefully decorated interiors.

This is a picture of the living room at the Californian house of Dana Abbott.

In the article on House Beautiful Dana describes her home as an old California ranch with European touches.

Love these leather butterfly chairs in combination with the linen covered wingchairs.

Again a neutral chosen color scheme.

‘We're not the biggest fans of sofas. We always struggle with how to make them look pretty and not dominate a room. We're drawn to things that aren't so heavy, which is why we like furniture with legs — it gives lightness to a room.’ (text House Beautiful)

In the dining room, a 19th-century French bookcase is stacked with Astier de Villatte pottery from Kim Fiscus Home, aged European linens, and gleaming antique silver pieces.

‘Plain old beige is yuck. I don't even like the word. We use a lot of flax linen, because it's natural, undyed, and not flat. Texture is key. Mixing linen and leather and velvet and mohair brings it to life.’ (text House Beautiful)
